About
After graduating from Southampton Medical School in 1986 and starting Ophthalmology training in 1990, Mr McPherson served as an Army Medical Officer on a Short Service Commission. When he left the Medical Corps in 1995, he continued his Ophthalmic training in Southampton, Cardiff and Swansea. He underwent a specialist Vitreoretinal Fellowship in Melbourne, Australia from 2000-2001, before being appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Vitreoretinal Specialist at the University Hospital Of Wales, Cardiff in 2001. He has been a full-time Consultant Ophthalmologist in Cardiff since this time and regularly performs Cataract surgeries, in addition to Vitrectomy Surgeries for a variety of conditions.
